That reminds me of a nonsensical comment I received several years back from a dedicated plotter who claimed that my non-plotted "first draft" was the same as her outline, rough and needing to be seriously fleshed out. I challenged her to actually read one of my "first drafts" to prove it wasn't. She refused to take me up on the offer. Pretty bad when an author is SO entrenched in the myths that they aren't willing to so much as LOOK at any evidence that threatens that myth. The brainwashing is real, for certain!
